North American Dental Group is proud to welcome Associated Dental Specialists to its group of affiliated dental practices. Associated Dental Specialists’ office is located in Long Grove, Illinois, approximately 35 miles Northwest of Chicago.
Associated Dental Specialists was founded in 1981 to provide best-in-class pediatric dentistry and orthodontic care. The practice has three well-established and highly regarded doctors in the field of dentistry:
Dr. Mark Cannon is the founder and senior partner of Associated Dental Specialists. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska, Masters of Pediatric Dentistry from Northwestern University, and has achieved Diplomate status by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Throughout his career, he has built a well-rounded and diverse portfolio in pediatric dentistry. Notable highlights include being a former faculty member of Northwestern University of Dental School, current professor at Feinberg School of Medicine, research coordinator at Ann and Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, and guest lecturer at other educational institutes. He is also a past President of the Illinois Society of Dentistry for Children, a member of the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry, and an active keynote speaker at conferences worldwide. Dr. Cannon is also actively leading research for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at Northwestern University and at Ann and Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital’s Special Infectious Disease area.
Dr. Michael Durbin received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and Masters of Science in Orthodontics from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, and is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Durbin is very involved with local and national dental societies. He has been a member of the House of Delegates of the Illinois State Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Durbin has served as an Officer of the Illinois Society of Orthodontists and on the Board of Trustees of the Chicago Dental Society Foundation. He has served on the Board of Trustees and has also served as a Director on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Dental Society for the Illinois State Dental Society. He is currently the President-Elect of DentIlPac, which is the political action committee of the Illinois State Dental Society.
Dr. Joseph Tylka received his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Dental Surgery in Biology from Loyola University of Chicago and has achieved Diplomate status by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Tylka specializes in dental sleep medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. In addition, he is a faculty member at Loyola University and on-staff at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital. Other notable highlights of his career include his many speaking engagements about pediatric dentistry, mentoring new dentists, and honored for his contributions with many awards.
